Summary

Role

As the Golf Operations Intern - Outside Services, you will partner with the Hill Country Golf Club leadership team throughout a seasonal internship program to gain hands-on experience in the daily operation of a premier golf resort.

Working directly with the Outside Services team and golf leadership, you will play an important role in creating an exceptional arrival, pre-round, and post-round experience for resort guests, members, and daily-fee golfers. This position provides exposure to golf operations, guest service, tournament execution, golf cart and fleet operations, and the overall management of a high-volume golf facility.

During the program, you will support daily outside operations while developing valuable leadership, communication, and operational skills. The ideal candidate is energetic, service-minded, dependable, and interested in pursuing a career in the golf industry.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited too:

• Welcoming and assisting members, resort guests, and golfers upon arrival
• Managing the golf bag drop, staging area, and golf bag storage operations
• Loading and unloading golf bags and assisting guests with their equipment
• Staging, cleaning, charging, and maintaining golf carts for daily play
• Assisting with opening and closing procedures for outside golf operations
• Supporting the Starter and first-tee operation to promote an organized and efficient guest experience
• Assisting with tournament and group-event setup, execution, and breakdown
• Preparing golf carts, signage, scorecards, tournament materials, and other event needs
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional golf arrival area and cart staging area
• Assisting with pace-of-play initiatives and communication with the Golf Shop and golf professional staff
• Providing proactive service and anticipating guest needs throughout their visit
• Communicating effectively with Golf Shop, Tournament, Golf Course Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Resort teams
• Learning and following all golf department safety, service, and operational standards
• Assisting supervisors and golf professionals with special projects and operational initiatives
• Supporting the development and training of seasonal outside-service team members as appropriate
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, or Outside Services Supervisors

Learning & Development

This internship offers an excellent opportunity to develop golf operations, leadership, hospitality, tournament, and guest-service skills while gaining exposure to the day-to-day management of a premier resort golf facility.

Qualifications

• Involvement on campus or with a collegiate golf program preferred

• Valid driver's license

• Student majoring in Professional Golf Management, Hospitality, Recreation, Business, or a related field

• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions

• Ability to lift and move golf bags and equipment

• Candidates actively pursuing a college degree at any level

• Ability to work a flexible schedule through internships
