Job Summary
Assists in operating the municipal golf course golf shop facility, provides excellent customer service, and promotes the golf course usage.
Essential Functions
Greets customers, runs the check-in counter, collects greens fees, sells available merchandise and assists customers with their clubs.
Stocks displays and monitors golf merchandise inventory levels.
Maintains the clubhouse and grounds by picking up trash, etc.
Uses computer system for data entry on daily sales and tournaments.
Monitors driving range and parking lot.
Performs other duties related to the Golf operations and customer service.
Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers and others in the course of daily work.
Required Skills
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of the game of golf, equipment, rules, etc. and a certain level of golf proficiency and the ability to communicate this expertise is preferred.
Requires customer service orientation and above average reading, writing and math skills.
Position requires applicant to pass a credit check and a Federal/National criminal background check. Must have a valid Texas drivers license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen, and functional assessment screening (Level 1).
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the essential functions of this position, there will be routine and frequent exposure to:
Safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, hard hats, safety vests, steel-toe boots, back support belts, and seat belts are provided and must be worn as required by department procedures and good safety practices.
