JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: GOLF SHOP RETAIL COORDINATOR

CATEGORY: NON-EXEMPT

SUMMARY: Rolling Hills Country Club is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and service-driven Golf Shop Retail Coordinator to oversee and enhance the retail experience within the golf shop. This role is responsible for supporting merchandising, driving sales, and delivering exceptional member service. Working closely with the Golf Professional Staff, the coordinator will help curate product offerings and ensure the shop consistently reflects the high standards and style of the Club's membership.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in executing the golf shop retail plan as directed by golf leadership
  • Support merchandise selection and purchasing across apparel, accessories, and hard goods
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and manage communications regarding orders and product availability
  • Execute floor sets, seasonal displays, and merchandising updates
  • Ensure the golf shop is consistently clean, organized, and visually appealing
  • Actively engage members and guests to enhance their retail experience
  • Provide product knowledge and personal recommendations
  • Build relationships with members to understand preferences and buying habits
  • Assist with promotions, trunk shows, and retail events
  • Support achievement of retail sales goals through proactive engagement and merchandising
  • Perform daily inventory tasks including receiving, tagging, stocking, and organizing merchandise
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Monitor product movement and communicate inventory needs or opportunities
  • Process returns, transfers, and vendor-related inventory communications
  • Provide guidance to golf shop staff on product knowledge and sales techniques
  • Promote a team-first culture centered around exceptional member service
  • Help reinforce retail standards and expectations set by golf leadership

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of golf industry brands, trends, and seasonal buying cycles
  • Experience with retail POS and inventory management systems
  • Creative eye for merchandising and visual presentation
  • Proven ability to drive retail sales and manage inventory effectively
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5+ years of retail buying, merchandising, or golf shop experience (private club experience preferred)

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred
  • PGA Member or Associate preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (up to 50 lbs. with assistance)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
