Government Affairs Intern

Summary

The Government Affairs Intern will support Revelation Pharma's growing engagement with federal and state governments, working closely with the Government Affairs team to monitor policy developments, conduct research, and help build relationships that protect and enhance the company's ability to bring innovative, individualized medicines to patients who need them. This is a learning-focused role: the intern will gain hands-on exposure to how a pharmacy compounding company engages with legislators, regulators, and industry stakeholders, working under the direct supervision and mentorship of the Government Affairs Director and Manager.

Job Activities and Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed below are subject to change.

• Legislative and Regulatory Monitoring: Assist in tracking federal, state, and local bills, regulations, and policy developments relevant to pharmacy compounding. Help maintain a legislative tracker and flag items of interest to the team.
• Policy Research and Analysis: Conduct research on assigned legislative and regulatory topics affecting compounding pharmacies. Draft summary memos and briefing notes for review by senior Government Affairs staff.
• Meeting and Event Support: Assist in preparing briefing materials and talking points ahead of department meetings, hearings, and conferences. Attend select external meetings alongside senior staff to observe and assist with duties.
• Communication Support: Assist in drafting internal summaries, presentation slides, and portions of white papers or briefing documents that communicate the company's positions on pharmacy compounding matters.
• Industry Engagement: Help monitor relevant industry associations, webinars, and conferences. Assist in maintaining a directory of industry contacts and stakeholder relationships.
• Election Tracking: Help monitor elections and campaigns of potential allies and opposition. Assist in lobbyist registration and tracking.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the internship, the intern will have gained practical experience in legislative tracking and policy research methods, exposure to how a regulated healthcare company builds relationships with policymakers and industry groups, and an understanding of the 503A/503B regulatory framework that governs pharmacy compounding.

Qualifications and Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, health policy, pre-law, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field (junior or senior standing preferred), or a recent graduate.
• Interest in healthcare policy and/or the pharmacy compounding industry; no prior 503A/503B experience required, but a willingness to learn the space quickly.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills with attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; comfortable learning new tools and databases.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

Physical requirements:

• Proficient in using a computer and related equipment, including printers and fax machines.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Effective communication skills via telephone and email.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds as needed.

Duration and Schedule

Part-time internship of 15-20 hours per week during the academic year. Schedule is flexible around class commitments where applicable, with core hours to be coordinated with the Government Affairs Director and Manager.

Travel

Limited travel expected (up to approximately 10%), primarily for local meetings or conferences attended alongside senior Government Affairs staff. No independent travel required.
