    Job Description

    The Government Affairs Specialist supports the company's government and regulatory affairs efforts by monitoring and tracking legislative, regulatory, and public policy developments at the international, federal, state, and local levels. Reporting to the Manager of Government Relations, this role coordinates policy updates, prepares monthly reporting materials, supports industry association engagement, and assists in identifying emerging compliance matters, including data privacy regulations.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Monitor and track international legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the business.
    • Assist the Government and Regulatory Affairs team with U.S. legislative, regulatory, and government affairs activities at the federal, state, and local levels.
    • Research, identify, and track regulatory actions and emerging public policy issues.
    • Prepare and distribute monthly government relations updates and reporting materials.
    • Support participation in industry associations and serve as an alternate representative on select committees.
    • Monitor developing data privacy laws and compliance requirements, including CPRA, GDPR, and similar regulations.
    • Summarize policy developments and communicate potential business impacts to internal stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support the company's government relations objectives.

     

    Job Requirements:

     

    • Associate’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, or related experience required.
    • Proven experience in government relations, advocacy, public policy, legislative affairs, or a related field preferred.
    • Understanding of federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory processes.
      Strong organizational, research, and analytical skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to influence others, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
    • Must be able to work full-time onsite in Middleville, Michigan. This is not a remote position.
