Government Property Specialist

Location: Huntsville, AL 35806
Pay Rate: $39 per hour
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday
Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8-hour day with 30-minute lunch)
Work Environment: 100% Onsite


Position Overview

We are seeking a Government Property Specialist II to support government property management activities in Huntsville, AL. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations governing the acquisition, tracking, inventory, and disposition of government-owned property.

The specialist will assist with audits, maintain property records, conduct inventories, and support contract compliance activities related to government property management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer contract provisions related to the acquisition, control, use, care, and disposition of government property

  • Maintain property accountability from initial acquisition through final disposition

  • Manage property records using internal systems and standard software tools

  • Conduct physical inventories and reconcile property records with inventory results

  • Support audits and ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

  • Investigate and document lost or damaged property incidents

  • Coordinate documentation for property transfers, ownership changes, and location updates

  • Assist with determining property allowability, allocability, and proper use under government contracts

  • Support property disposition and contract close-out activities


Qualifications

Required

  • Experience working with government property management processes

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

  • Experience with property loss reporting or tracking tools

  • Experience supporting government property audits

  • Ability to manage property lifecycle activities including acquisition, inventory, movement, and disposition

Preferred

  • Experience supporting NASA or aerospace property programs

  • Experience with DCMA audits

  • Government or federal property management experience (not commercial property management)


Work Environment

  • Onsite role supporting government property operations

  • Interaction with program teams responsible for government property oversight

  • Work performed under federal contract compliance requirements
