Government Relations Analyst Remote (USA) Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and politically neutral Government Relations Analyst to support government affairs, public policy, regulatory monitoring, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will research legislative and regulatory developments, analyze their potential impact on the organization, prepare briefings and reports, and support relationships with government agencies and external stakeholders.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates located in the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor federal, state, and local legislative, regulatory, and policy developments relevant to the organization.

  • Conduct research and analysis on proposed legislation, regulations, government programs, and public policy issues.

  • Assess the potential operational, financial, and strategic impact of policy and regulatory changes.

  • Prepare concise policy briefs, legislative summaries, research reports, presentations, and executive briefings.

  • Track bills, regulations, hearings, agency announcements, and government initiatives.

  • Maintain databases and tracking systems for legislative and regulatory activities.

  • Support the Government Relations and Public Affairs teams with policy research and strategic analysis.

  • Conduct research on government agencies, elected officials, committees, and relevant stakeholders.

  • Assist in preparing materials for meetings with government officials, policymakers, agencies, and industry organizations.

  • Coordinate with internal legal, compliance, communications, operations, and business teams on government affairs matters.

  • Identify emerging policy and regulatory trends and communicate relevant developments to leadership.

  • Support preparation for legislative hearings, regulatory meetings, industry events, and stakeholder briefings.

  • Monitor industry associations and external policy organizations for relevant developments.

  • Maintain accurate records of government-relations activities, contacts, meetings, and policy developments.

  • Assist with government affairs projects, public-policy initiatives, and special research assignments.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations to help leadership understand and respond to government and regulatory developments.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Government, Business, Communications, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, legislative research, regulatory affairs, research, consulting, or a related field.

  • Strong research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to interpret complex legislative and regulatory information.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear, concise executive-level summaries.

  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • Experience monitoring federal or state legislative and regulatory activity.

  • Familiarity with government databases, legislative tracking platforms, and regulatory research tools.

  • Experience preparing policy briefs, legislative analyses, or regulatory impact assessments.

  • Knowledge of federal and state government processes.

  • Experience working with trade associations, public affairs organizations, consulting firms, or regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with data-analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a remote-first position requiring strong research, communication, organization, and analytical skills. The Government Relations Analyst will collaborate with internal teams, government stakeholders, external organizations, and senior leadership across multiple time zones.
