UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Governmental Affairs Analyst to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for the research and tracking of industry-related governmental affairs, including, but not limited to local, state, federal, and judicial levels, to establish clear expectations regarding the likelihood, outcomes, and timelines of proposals. This position will focus on delivering analytics, metrics, insight, and solutions that contribute to the departments and organization's decision-making process, including market and asset selection.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Senior Director - Governmental Affairs

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: N/A

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develop advanced knowledge of regulatory frameworks through research into legislative and regulatory proceedings at the local, county, state, federal, and judicial levels.

  2. Exercise judgement to identify what legislative/regulatory issues could impact UDR or the multifamily industry.

  3. Consolidate necessary data for reporting on key regulatory and legislative matters with the intent of reporting such information, and conclusions, to the Senior Director - Governmental Affairs.

  4. Maintenance of regulatory database(s) through the tracking of data and consistent updating.

  5. Develop and maintain regulatory related reports.

  6. Coordinate with various UDR teams to ensure that all regulatory topics that do, or could, impact the Company are being tracked, reported on, and proactively addressed.

  7. Coordination of regulatory efforts with various trade associations.

  8. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to details is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data and generate reports.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, including MS Office applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Undergraduate degree with an emphasis in economics, political science, public policy, real estate, or business, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  2. Previous work-related experience is preferred.

Salary Range:

  • $68,800.00/yr. - $76,400.00/yr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:

  • Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
