VMG is seeking a motivated and dependable GPR Helper (Ground Penetrating Radar Assistant) to support our field operations team with concrete scanning, utility locating, and subsurface investigations. This role assists GPR Technicians and Managers during scanning operations used to locate utilities, rebar, post-tension cables, voids, and other subsurface anomalies in concrete, asphalt, and soil.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, breakdown, transportation, and organization of GPR equipment
  • Push or guide GPR carts and handheld scanning units during field operations
  • Help establish scan grids, control lines, and reference points
  • Mark detected utilities and targets using paint, chalk, or flags
  • Support concrete scanning, utility locating, and coring operations
  • Assist with documenting locations, depths, and site conditions during scans
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform basic equipment care
  • Help maintain safe work zones and situational awareness on active jobsites
  • Assist with traffic control, barricades, and spotting duties when required
  • Perform general labor and field support duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous construction or labor experience is a plus, but not required
  • Willingness to learn technical skills and work in a fast-paced field environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
