Grace Christian Reformed ChurchYouth DirectorPosition Summary:The position of Youth Director is created to develop and administer the youth programs of the church. These will be designed to encourage the youth to develop personal relationships with Jesus Christ, develop their growth as Christians and glorify God in all they do. Overall direction of all programs from Junior High through Post-High School.Key Responsibilities:•Direct and manage the youth programs of the church•Organizes the following groups: Junior high youth group (Typically 2 meetings per month)Senior high youth groups (Typically 2-4 meetings per month) Post-high group (Typically 1 meeting per month depending on need)•Plans and implements an annual mission project for the youth.•Works with council and the Senior Pastor and Worship Director to set goals and to develop plans for youth in worship.•Identifies and proposes activities beyond Grace youth programs with other Christian church youth groups.•Is encouraged to be involved in events important to youth outside the congregation and in the schools as a way to connect and mentor students.•Has access to Worship Committee, Education Committee, and Evangelism Committee meetings.•Serves as advisor to Sunday School, Cadet, and G.E.M.S. Leaders.•Makes available printed materials about Youth Ministry programs and events. •Reports monthly to council about work.•Develops budget requests in keeping with adopted goals of the church.•Continues education in consultation with the Senior Pastor.•Additional duties may be assigned as needed.Qualifications:•Demonstrates Christian commitment in harmony with the doctrinal standards of the Christian Reformed Church and the mission and vision of Grace CRC.•Shows maturity sufficient to serve on a church staff.•Has demonstrated gifts and abilities in youth work and leadership with strong communication abilities and technological skills.•Has prior experience working with youth ministry. A Bachelor's degree, or Youth Ministry certification is preferred.•Exhibits a love for youth and a passion to see them grow and mature in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Supervision:The Youth Director will be under the authority of the Executive Committee. The position is ordinarily responsible to the Senior Pastor, in consultation with the Executive Committee, with the right of appealto the council. The first six months of the position shall be probationary. The position's annual evaluation will be done the be Executive Committee and will be reported to Council.Compensation and Hours:Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. The position may be structured as either full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate and the needs of the church.Mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with current IRS reimbursement rates.An annual continuing education allowance will be provided to support ongoing professional and spiritual development.
