JOB LOCATION: Schurz Elementary School

LEVEL: Elementary - Grade 1 Dual Language

CERTIFICATION: Current WI DPI Teaching License - Bilingual License (1023)

PERCENTAGE: 100%

START DATE: August 24, 2026 (new teacher orientation is August 17-20, 2026)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Watertown Unified School District supports bilingual, dual language classrooms at the elementary level. The district is searching to hire a teacher with a 1023 bilingual license, to teach first grade in the bilingual program.

Candidate should possess:

  • Willingness to participate in the dual language program at Schurz;
  • Written and verbal fluency in the Spanish language;
  • Evidence of an attitude of cooperation with staff and families;
  • Ability to provide data-driven instruction in line with District curriculum and standards;
  • Willingness to work closely with a team in a Professional Learning Community (PLC);
  • Willingness to collaborate closely with colleagues;
  • Strong training in the teaching of reading and mathematics.

The Watertown School District has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students taught in seven buildings. Schurz Elementary School is a 4K - 5th Grade building with an enrollment of 240 students and has a Dual Language program.

THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community has 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River approximately halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
