JOB GOAL:
To provide each student with the maximum opportunity to learn through high levels of student engagement, personalized instruction, and the development of citizenship and life skills. This position supports the Southern Door County School District's mission to ensure all students graduate prepared for college, career, and community.
POSITION DETAILS:
Our fifth-grade team is comprised of four teachers. Two teachers provide instruction in English Language Arts (ELA), while two teachers provide instruction in mathematics, science, and social studies. For this position, the teacher will teach mathematics, science, and social studies to their homeroom class in the morning and then provide instruction in those same subject areas in the afternoon to their partner teacher's students.
Southern Door School District uses Bridges Version 3 for mathematics, Mystery Science for science instruction, and Discovery Education as an instructional resource. Class sizes are approximately 20-22 students per section.
The first day of school for the 2026-2027 school year is Monday, August 31, 2026. New teacher orientation will take place August 11-13, 2026, and district in-service days for all new teachers are scheduled for August 24-27, 2026.
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
Initial virtual interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis as applications are received. Final interviews will be scheduled shortly thereafter.
