Position Overview

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and student-centered individuals to join our team as Paraprofessionals. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career in education. No prior classroom experience is required, and comprehensive training is provided.

Paraprofessionals play a vital role in supporting teachers, reinforcing classroom expectations, and helping students achieve academic and behavioral success. Working closely with classroom teachers and school leadership, Paraprofessionals contribute to a structured and productive learning environment where students can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support daily instruction and classroom activities.
  • Assist with classroom management and reinforce school-wide behavioral expectations.
  • Support students during whole-group, small-group, and independent learning activities.
  • Reinforce academic habits and classroom expectations, including attentiveness, engagement, and appropriate classroom conduct.
  • Lead small instructional groups in reading, mathematics, writing, and spelling under teacher direction.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted academic support.
  • Assist with grading assignments and helping students correct and learn from their work.
  • Supervise students during arrival, lunch, recess, dismissal, and other designated times.
  • Attend required school events, including Back-to-School Night and other community activities.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and implement school policies, procedures, and instructional practices.
