Position OverviewEstablished grades and provide layout for all construction activities provide operator support as required.Essential FunctionsResponsibilities Be knowledgeable of the project plansAccurately provide grades lines and locations of features and plan representationsInteract with foreman and engineering staff to know the upcoming work and any clarifications to the work Communicate issues to the foreman and office staff for timely resolution provide solutions to the issues as necessaryMaintains company safety and quality standards Other DutiesPerforms all other duties as assigned.Promotes awareness of and follows Company and safety policies.Working ConditionsWork is generally from 7am to 330pm M-F. Work days and hours are dependent on job demandsEquipment UseAs requiredMental and Physical Demands Physically able to traverse the project site and access all areas. Have acuity to learn the plansspecs and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.Communication DemandsInteraction with office staff crew owners representative subcontractors and in a positive manner that promotes teamworkAbility to apply concepts of basic mathematics and measurements to practical situationsEfficiently communicate directions issues and resolutionsMinimum Qualification RequirementsExperience 5 years of civil experience.Computer Skills NA Math Good mathematical skills Reading Ability to read and comprehend drawings for job specifications.We primarily employ carpenters laborers and operating engineers. We are signatory to collective bargaining agreements with the following unions listed below and are subject to the hiring rules of each collective bargaining agreement. We anticipate hiring for projects on Oahu Maui Hawaii and Kauai as work becomes available and will be contacting the respective union to fill these positionsOperating Engineers Local Union No.3This is a union position.
