About the College/Unit/Department
The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) at the University of Georgia is dedicated to expanding the global reach of our institution's instructional, research, and service missions, facilitating the university's thoughtful and effective participation and leadership in the interconnected world of the twenty-first century. OGE is comprised of three units: Immigration Services, International Initiatives, and Global Education-the latter including UGA's residential centers in Oxford, England and Cortona, Italy-with all areas supported by dedicated Finance and Operations staff. OGE's comprehensive structure enables it to advance strategic institutional goals aimed at raising the global profile of the University of Georgia. Duties/Responsibilities
Support program applicants with the application process and selected participants with the pre-departure process.
Percentage of time 50 Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with program promotion in person and on social media, making presentations to classrooms and representing programs at fairs and other recruiting opportunities.

Assist with organizing post-program activities.

This position will assist in the promotion of study away programs by visiting classes and giving presentations to the students. Promotion duties also include creating materials, identifying courses to visit, contacting faculty, and setting time and date of presentation; assist staffing program table at the study away fairs in September and January.
The position will also assist in maintaining communication with the program applicants through the units' email, organizing application materials in the study away portal, and other related duties.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Qualifications include demonstrable organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
International experience is highly desired, but not required.
While driving is preferred, if the candidate has no driver's license, public transportation may be used on campus as needed.
Physical Demands
Lift 45lbs. Employee may be asked to drive state car or personal vehicle to work assignments (on campus). Employee may also use public transportation for on campus as needed. Occasional travel to various classrooms and other sites on campus will be needed. Speaking in front of a group.
