Graduate Assistant - Baseball

The University of Evansville Athletics Department, a proud member of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), invites applications for the Graduate Assistant Coach position for our NCAA Division I men's baseball program.

This position offers an immersive, hands-on opportunity for an aspiring collegiate baseball coach to gain comprehensive experience in all facets of a Division I program while pursuing a Master's degree. Working directly under the head coach, you will play an active role in daily practice preparation, scouting, recruiting, and overall program administration.

Key Responsibilities

The Graduate Assistant Coach assists the coaching staff in all aspects of a competitive Division I baseball program, including:

• On-Field & Tactical Support: Assist with practice planning, preparation, and daily execution to develop student-athletes.
• Scouting & Game Preparation: Contribute to opponent scouting reports, game analysis, and statistical breakdown.
• Recruiting Operations: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
• Program Administration: Carry out administrative duties as assigned by the head coach, supporting team operations and logistics.
• Campus & Community Relations: Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, and the general public.
• Compliance: Perform all duties in strict compliance with University, NCAA, and Missouri Valley Conference rules and regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Expertise: Solid knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategy, and rules.
• Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, and fans.
• Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and team travel.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous coaching and/or collegiate playing experience.
