    Other Conditions: Extramural funds. To begin approximately mid-August 2026 or shortly thereafter. Renewal of appointment is contingent upon availability of funds, program/operational needs and satisfactory performance.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Principal Investigator in conducting research and provide analytical support for battery materials prototyping, testing, and modeling projects. This includes assembly of custom-made batteries in a glove-box environment, the coupling and testing of half-cells and full cells on multichannel potentiostats, and battery modeling using a matlab or python environment..

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be a degree-seeking graduate student (Masters or PhD) admitted to or registered in a graduate program at UH Manoa in mechanical engineering or related field of study.
    • Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above and maintain full-time enrollment.
    • B.S. in mechanical engineering or related field.
    • Working knowledge of principles and practices of scientific research.
    • Experience battery prototyping and battery testing.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Highly organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work effectively in research organizations and establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and industry personnel.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Experience with python.
