Graduate Assistant Coach - Track & FieldPosition SummaryBethel University invites applications for a Graduate Assistant Track & Field Coach who is committed to advancing the University's Christ-centered mission through excellence in intercollegiate athletics.The Graduate Assistant (GA) supports the Head Coach and staff in all aspects of the program, with a primary focus on discipleship, player development, recruiting, and cultivating a Christ-centered team culture. This role contributes to the holistic development of student-athletes-spiritually, academically, athletically, and personally-while advancing the mission and values of the institution.Essential Responsibilities Student-Athlete DevelopmentMentor and disciple student-athletes in alignment with Christ-centered principlesSupport the spiritual formation of players through relationship-building and intentional engagementPromote academic success, accountability, and personal growthAssist in monitoring academic progress and retention Coaching & Player DevelopmentAssist with practice planning and on-field instructionProvide individual skill development and position-specific trainingContribute to game preparation, scouting reports, and film breakdownSupport in-game coaching, strategy, and adjustments RecruitingIdentify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who align with institutional mission and program cultureBuild relationships with high school and club coachesAssist with campus visits, communication, and recruiting coordinationMaintain recruiting databases and compliance standards Program & Culture DevelopmentHelp cultivate a Christ-centered, team-first culture focused on excellence, accountability, and unityModel and reinforce program standards and expectationsSupport team-building initiatives and leadership development Operations & AdministrationAssist with team travel coordination, scheduling, and logisticsSupport equipment management and practice organizationEnsure compliance with Conference/NAIA/NCCAA and institutional policiesParticipate in department meetings and initiatives Community & Campus EngagementEngage in campus life and contribute to the broader university communitySupport outreach, camps, and community engagement effortsRepresent the program in a professional and mission-aligned mannerRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree required; acceptance to a Bethel University Master's Degree program required.Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience with evidence of leadership, discipleship, recruiting, player development, fundraising, and program organization.Strong understanding of recruiting practices and track & field operations.Clear personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with Bethel University's doctrinal statement.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Position ExpectationsPart-time, 10-month appointment.Evening, weekend, and travel responsibilities required.Active participation in the spiritual life and mission of Bethel University is an essential function of the position.Application ProcessApplicants should submit a cover letter, résumé with three professional references, and a statement of Christian faith.
