GRADUATE ASSISTANT: CONFERENCE SERVICES 

OVERVIEW:
DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university, under the leadership of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales. Founded in 1965, the 550-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,500 includes undergraduate day and evening students, and graduate students. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Conference Services Graduate Assistant, a non-exempt Graduate Assistant position, and has the primary responsibility of ambassador for Auxiliary and Conference Services. The position schedule will vary as overseeing evening & weekend events for internal and external clients is a primary responsibility. The position will interact with clients by giving tours of the University Center, problem solving any event issues, and addressing client needs related to their events. Developing familiarity with Auxiliary Services computer programs such as Creston, Visio, and 25 Live as well as becoming an expert in Conference Center AV and sound. Additional responsibilities include supervising a team of 5-10 student workers, assisting in event scheduling, and maintaining the University’s vehicle fleet. The position will require driving University owned vehicles such as 12 passenger vans and mini vans. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record

  • The position requires frequent physical exertion. The applicant must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift equipment weighing 60lbs.
