Requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and acceptance into a graduate studies program at Franklin Pierce University (acceptance must be confirmed before the candidate is considered).Franklin Pierce University (FPU) is seeking four Graduate Assistants (GA) for our Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at our Manchester, NH location.
Job Summary:
- Graduate Assistant (GA): GAs provide peer academic support, administrative assistance, and departmental research support. Reporting to program faculty, the GA conducts individual tutoring and weekly group review sessions tailored to diverse learning styles, tracks student engagement, and assists with key operational tasks, including practical exam preparation, WebPT maintenance, CAPTE documentation, and faculty research. The position requires a consistent commitment of 10 hours per week (9 office/tutoring hours and 1 hour for Sunday reviews) along with prompt, professional email communication with students and faculty
- Graduate Assistantship Appointment: Financial payment for part-time work in teaching, administration or research. Appointments are made for the program's second year for an average of 10 hours of work per week. More information can be found in the FPU GA Handbook
- Compensation for all GA’s work: GA is eligible for 50% tuition reduction for each year and term assigned.
- Specific expectations will be communicated to the applicants from each program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of Professional Year 1 (PY1) of the DPT program with a strong academic record.
- Must maintain at least a 3.8 cumulative GPA and be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university, demonstrating a strong mastery of the curriculum.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to explain complex physical therapy concepts clearly to students with diverse learning styles.
- Possess strong organizational habits
- Maintain a prompt communication standard of responding to emails within 25 hours on weekdays and by Monday morning for weekend inquiries
- Experience in teaching or in working with other students.
