Title Graduate Assistant - Marketing for Learning Assistance Position Description
The Graduate Assistant (GA) will work 20 hours per week and receive up to 24 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 9 for fall, 9 for spring and 6 for summer.
Department Summary
The Academic Achievement Center (AAC) is the largest hub of student academic support services at Bridgewater State University. The AAC provides Academic Advising for specific populations as well as Learning Assistance support to undergraduate students. The AAC also houses Student Accessibility Services, Transfer Services, and Testing Services. Within Learning Assistance are the main areas of: Academic Coaching, Accounting and Finance Lab, STEM Tutoring, CRIT 111 Tutoring, Tutoring for Multilingual Students, and the Writing Studio. All areas within the AAC dedicate each day to student success and retention, as well as equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Manage Learning Assistance social media accounts by developing a consistent content calendar and posting engaging, informative content on a weekly basis
- Design and produce marketing materials (including videos, fliers, and brochures) to promote Learning Assistance programs, services, and resources to the student body
- Represent Learning Assistance Services through tabling events and outreach presentations to classrooms, student clubs, and campus organizations to raise awareness of available academic support
- Apply a diversity, equity, and inclusion framework to support the development of marketing initiatives, ensuring that Learning Assistance services are accessible, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of all students
- Staff the front desk to assist students with scheduling appointments, navigating services, and receiving accurate information about available resources
- Collaborate with the supervising professional to identify, design, and conduct an original research project related to learning assistance or student success, culminating in a presentation at the College of Graduate Studies Research Symposium each spring semester

- Develop organizational skills by managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors and campus partners to advance student success goals
Preferred Qualifications
Skills Needed/Preferred
- Enrollment in a graduate degree program at the university
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with social media management or digital content creation
- Experience with video editing
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite)
- Experience in customer service or a student-facing role
