Graduate Assistant Men's Baseball

Hiram College invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Men's Baseball. Hiram College is a private liberal arts institution located in northeast Ohio. The College is a member of the Presidents Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III.

Position Purpose

The GA Baseball trainer will work directly with the Hiram College Baseball Program and all facets of the day-to-day operations of the Baseball program in compliance with Hiram College and NCAA policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist head coach in practice and competition planning and implementation
  • Assist in all facets of recruiting and retention of student-athletes to the Baseball program
  • Assist with strength and conditioning program for Baseball
  • Assist with all funding raising initiatives for the Hiram College Baseball program
  • Do athletic laundry in sport season
  • Participate in Annual Day with Hiram Golf Outing
  • Other duties as assigned, to possibly include, but not be limited to other sport event management during the off-season

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong working knowledge of Baseball
  • Ability to teach skills and strategy of Baseball
  • Working knowledge of strength and conditioning relative to Baseball
  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented office environment and interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the public.
  • Microsoft Word
  • Excel
  • Experience with Front Rush
  • Proficient with all forms of social media

Experience

  • Previous college Baseball and/or coaching experience preferred
  • Experience recruiting college athletes preferred

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Acceptance into the Hiram College MAIS Graduate or Sports Management Program required for consideration
