Position Summary:The Graduate Assistant in the tutoring center, supports the day-to-day operations of the tutoring center with the goal of supervising tutors, tutoring for graduate and undergraduate-level writing, assisting with data entry, and working to develop graduate-level writing presentations and workshops. The position supports a welcoming environment that supports students with their academic goals. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:The graduate assistant position would be responsible for 20-hours of week per week classes are in session. The work would be split between the evenings to supervise the tutoring center during our evening hours of operation and during the traditional workday when applicable. Work with the tutoring director to train and support undergraduate tutors.Assist in the creation of graduate-level writing workshops including APA, plagiarism, AI, and professional voice. Collaborate on social media posts to boost engagement with tutoring. Attend weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the director of tutoring to discuss performance and necessary tasks and duties. Collaborate with other offices to support the academic needs of our students. Potential offices include Academic Advising and Student Success, Athletics, faculty members, and the Library.Maintain confidentiality of ODU information.Attend ODU-related events to promote tutoring (i.e., resource fairs, classroom visits, orientations, Accepted Panther Day)Support and contribute to the mission and vision of Ohio Dominican University.Other duties as assigned or needed.Qualifications:Enrolled in a Master's Degree program at Ohio Dominican University.The successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft office suite and be able to generate reports and track statistics.Additionally, they must be able to support the mission and vision of Ohio Dominican University.Educational Value:Will develop written and oral communication skills through correspondence with staff, faculty, and students.Will develop leadership, mentoring, and management skills needed to support undergraduate tutors, undergraduate and graduate students.
