The role of the Graduate Assistant is to serve as a building substitute teacher and teacher assistant by working collaboratively with teachers to instruct, supervise, and support students in the classroom, lunch room, halls and to assist staff with grading, planning, small group instruction, and other administrative duties assigned by the graduate assistant coordinator and administrators.
Preferred qualifications include an associate's or bachelor's degree (not required), the ability to develop positive and caring relationships with students, staff, and families, strong organizational and communication skills, experience and commitment in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrated skills in Google drive, Zoom and other applications, and the ability to multitask in a time-sensitive, dynamic work environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
The Graduate Assistant reports to the principal and associate principal. Essential duties and responsibilities include serving as a building substitute teacher by working collaboratively with teachers to instruct, supervise, and support students in the classroom, lunch room, halls, assisting teachers with grading, planning, small group instruction, providing administrative support to the Principal, Associate Principal, and IB Coordinator, managing attendance through PowerSchool for teachers and students, adhering to all attendance policies and procedures, developing positive and friendly rapport and communicating effectively with students, staff, parents, district leaders, and community members, and any other duties delegated by the Principal.
Terms of employment include up to 40 hours per week, 7:25 am - 3:15 pm daily, with flexibility in hours. Pay is $18/hour based on experience, compensation through Edustaff. Schedule is Monday - Friday 7:25 am - 3:15 pm with some flexibility based on schedule needs. Position starting date is August 2025.
