The Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the Graduate College provides critical leadership in graduate education. The portfolio for this position includes data steward for the Graduate College, leading college-wide efforts to strengthen the graduate student academic experience, addressing graduate student and graduate faculty concerns and subsequent appeals that are covered in the Graduate College appeals process, managing all award processes, serving as the liaison for the Graduate and Professional Student Government Association and working with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Dean of the Graduate College in administrative responsibilities, as assigned.
The Associate Dean for Student Affairs provides essential leadership within the Graduate College, focusing on data-driven decision-making to enhance program strengths and student success.
Administrative experience at the department, school, and/or college level in graduate programs is required, along with a terminal degree; tenure in an OSU department/unit/school; associate professor rank (full professor preferred); graduate faculty membership; record of scholarly achievement in research, teaching, and outreach; and a successful record of mentoring graduate students. The successful applicant is also expected to have demonstrated an ability to work collegially and collaboratively with students of varied backgrounds, staff, faculty, administrators, alumni, and external constituents.
