What you'll be doing

The Cumbria team continues to deliver a dynamic and meaningful programme of work, with recent success marked by the completion of the Maryport Activity Centre refurbishment as part of a wider regeneration initiative with Cumberland Council. Building on this momentum, the team is now preparing tenders for several local projects aimed at enhancing the area for both residents and visitors. Meanwhile, our dedicated M&E team is managing £6M worth of planned Fabric and M&E maintenance across Westmorland and Furness Council's corporate and educational estates, ensuring essential infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards.

On site, progress is underway on a vibrant café and community hub on Walney Island, the refurbishment of the Coroner's Court in Workington, and a fresh office space for Cumbria Youth Alliance.

Additionally, the team is delivering vital school extensions for multiple local authorities, reinforcing their commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure across the region and ensuring the buildings where our children are educated are safe, modern, and efficient.

As part of working on projects like these, your day-to-day work will include:

  • Supporting the design and delivery of electrical building services projects
  • Working alongside senior engineers on single‑discipline and multi‑disciplinary schemes
  • Getting involved in design, site inspections, surveys and client meetings
