The Hawai'i State Center for Nursing invites students for Master's Degrees or PhDs in Nursing, Communicology, Psychology, Sociology, or other social science departments to apply for a temporary, 50% effort, 11-month Graduate Assistant position beginning in September 2026. Continuation is contingent upon program needs, satisfactory work performance, academic progress, and availability of funds. Position benefits include tuition waiver and eligibility for health benefits, such as medical, drug, dental, and vision, with employee contribution.
The position is open to students in the Nursing PhD Program or Master's or PhD programs in Communicology, Psychology, Sociology or other social science departments who are interested in nursing and healthcare workforce research. The student will assist the Researcher at the Hawaii State Center for Nursing with revising data collection instruments, monitoring the fielding of surveys, analyzing survey data, updating and creating interactive dashboards, writing workforce reports (gray literature), conducting literature reviews, and developing manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals.
