The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) invites applications for an academic Graduate Assistantship within the Department of Exercise and Sport Science ( http://uca.edu/exss/ ).

Academic graduate assistants are assigned to a research lab and/or academic course supervised by one or more faculty members. The department is home to more than 700 students, offering undergraduate degrees in exercise science and physical education, and graduate degrees in athletic training, exercise science and sport management. Areas of research emphasis include exercise physiology, biomechanics, sport-related concussions, pain management, and sport leadership. The department values inclusive pedagogy and the UCA Center for Teaching Excellence and Academic Leadership ( https://uca.edu/cetal/ ) is an available resource to assist faculty to thrive professionally and personally. Full-time (20 hours a week) and Part-time (10 hours a week) positions are available.

  • Ability to make sound judgments and assist in resolving student concerns.

  • Civility in all interactions of a public or confidential nature.
  • Demonstrate follow-up contacts and consultations in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of social media marketing and website design

Required Education and/or Experience

Must have a completed bachelor's degree in athletic training,

exercise science, kinesiology, or related field by the date of appointment. Must be fully admitted to the UCA Graduate School.
