Summary

Saint Xavier University's Center for Accessibility Resources (CAR) is committed to ensuring equal access for students with disabilities. This part-time position is open only to currently admitted Saint Xavier University graduate students and provides support in administering and proctoring exams for students who receive testing accommodations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer and proctor faculty-issued exams for students with approved testing accommodations
  • Provide support for less frequently approved accommodations, such as reading exam content aloud or serving as a scribe, as needed.
  • Maintain exam security and confidentiality at all times and report any testing irregularities to CAR staff.
  • Assist with basic record-keeping related to exam administration.
  • Support the return of completed exams to faculty.
  • Assist with additional tasks related to testing, accommodations, or general office support as directed by the CAR Coordinator.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

Must be admitted to and enrolled in a Saint Xavier University graduate program.

Must be Federal Work Study Eligible

Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter

Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience working with students in a special education, disability services, or

higher education setting is strongly preferred.

  • Experience supporting IEP or 504 Plan accommodations is a plus.
  • Comfortable using everyday technology such as laptops, email, and shared documents.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) is helpful.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm and structured testing environment.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills when interacting with students and staff.
  • Calm, patient, and professional demeanor with the ability to redirect or de-escalate situations when necessary.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
