Position Overview:
We are seeking a Grain Operations Technician to support daily production at our clients facility in Chesapeake, VA. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment while assisting with routine operational and production tasks throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in an industrial environment involving grain handling equipment, elevated work areas, and varying environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine housekeeping throughout the facility
- Assist with general operational tasks to support daily grain handling and facility operations
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment to ensure product safety and quality
- Follow all company safety policies and regulatory guidelines
- Support operational teams with facility maintenance and basic labor tasks as needed
- Operate within established safety standards and report any hazards or safety concerns
Qualifications:
- Must have previous industrial or agriculture experience
- Must be dependable have strong work ethic
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- TWIC card required (or ability to obtain)
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills required
- Strong attention to safety procedures
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- This position requires working in an industrial grain environment and may include:
- Climbing vertical heights up to 150 feet
- Lifting and carrying tools or equipment up to 100 pounds
- Exposure to grain dust, humidity, and outdoor temperatures
- Exposure to loud industrial noise
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection when necessary
Schedule:
- Monday – Sunday: 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am
- 5 days per week with two days off per week
- Must be open to working weekends and evening shifts
- Overtime, weekends, and holidays are required
