Grain Originator | on-site in OH

A financially strong and well-respected regional grain company is seeking a Grain Originator to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with farmers, developing new business, and helping producers make informed grain marketing decisions. The ideal candidate is outgoing, self-motivated, and comfortable picking up the phone, visiting farms, and building long-term relationships throughout the territory.

Location: This is an on-site position based in N. Central Ohio. Candidates must currently live within the area or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities: 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local grain producers
• Purchase grain directly from farmers
• Develop new business through phone outreach, referrals, and farm visits
• Provide producers with grain market updates and marketing recommendations
• Identify opportunities to grow grain volume and expand the customer base
• Coordinate grain movement, logistics, and transportation
• Maintain regular communication with producers throughout the season
• Deliver excellent customer service while growing the assigned territory

Qualifications:

• Grain origination, grain merchandising, agricultural sales, or related industry experience
• Knowledge of grain markets and production agriculture preferred
• Comfortable prospecting, cold calling, and developing new customer relationships
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven
• Organized and able to manage multiple producer accounts and priorities
• Degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or a related field preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive base salary of $70,000 to $80,000+ with flexibility based on experience
