Position Summary The Gym Attendant will supervise the gym service desk, locker rooms, hallways, participants, programs, and activities, and enforce necessary guidelines. Essential Responsibilities - Provide general supervision of the activity areas and participants. - Provide information and answer questions about available programs, gym schedule, and events. - Follow the weekly gym schedule as outlined in the Monthly Drop-In Recreation Schedule. - Maintain accurate equipment check out and check in system. - Report all equipment and gym area problems to the Gym Supervisor. - Maintain accurate headcounts. - Organize and supervise activities in the gym as assigned. - Operate scoreboard when needed. - Assist in class and program check-in procedures. - Enforce all safety guidelines that pertain to the gym and locker rooms on a constant and consistent basis. - Ensure participants under 18 years of age are wearing wristbands. - Maintain the cleanliness and operation of the gym equipment. - Maintain cleanliness of the gym by following shift cleaning checklist. - Clean and inspect equipment used in the gym. - Report all equipment breakdowns according to the stated procedure. - Repair and fix equipment as needed. - Collect and manage the Lost and Found. - Wash lost and found items, towels, and other items as needed. - Other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities Qualifications - Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. - Experience: Previous experience supervising, coaching, and working with children preferred. - Age: Be at least 18 years old. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities - Possess an understanding of the rules and fundamentals of indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, badminton, floor hockey, indoor soccer, and other programs offered in the gymnasium is preferred. - Be able to read, write, and communicate in English with the preferred ability to also communicate in Spanish. - Be able to lift and carry 40lbs. - Must be able to be mobile for long periods of time. Computer Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office 365. - Working Knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint. Certificates and Licenses - Have CPR/AED First Aid certification or obtain within 45 days. - Complete Safe From Harm Training and keep current as needed.
