Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to support grant-related financial operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Bellingham, Washington. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience overseeing federal and state grant activity, monitoring deadlines, and evaluating budgets for accuracy and compliance. The position offers an opportunity to contribute hands-on financial expertise while helping ensure grant funds are managed effectively and reported properly. Responsibilities: - Oversee the financial administration of federal and state grants, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and align with applicable funding requirements. - Track grant schedules and key deadlines to support timely reporting, renewals, and overall program compliance. - Examine grant budgets and spending activity to identify variances, maintain financial control, and support informed decision-making. - Prepare and maintain detailed grant-related financial records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for internal and external review. - Collaborate with program teams and finance stakeholders to clarify funding rules, monitor allowable costs, and resolve accounting questions. - Use AccuFund and Microsoft Excel to manage grant data, produce financial reports, and analyze account activity. - Assist with fund administration processes, including allocation tracking, expense monitoring, and audit-ready documentation preparation. Requirements - At least 3 years of accounting experience with direct involvement in grant-related financial management. - Practical knowledge of federal and state grant regulations, compliance standards, and funding oversight. - Experience reviewing budgets, tracking expenditures, and maintaining accurate grant financial records. - Proficiency in fund administration and grant management within an accounting or finance environment. - Working knowledge of AccuFund and strong Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and analysis. - Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain organization across several grants or funding sources. - Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills for working with finance teams and program stakeholders.
