Grant Accountant
Location:
Hollywood, FL.
Salary Range:
$70,000-$85,000


Job Summary:
The Grant Accountant is responsible for managing the financial activities related to government grants and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, funding requirements, and organizational policies. This role oversees grant accounting, reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation activities while working closely with program managers and finance teams to ensure accurate tracking and utilization of grant funds.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage accounting functions for government-funded grants, including tracking expenditures, revenue recognition, and grant reimbursements.

  • Prepare and submit financial reports required by federal, state, and local government agencies.

  • Monitor grant budgets, analyze spending activity, and identify variances or compliance issues.

  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate grant-related financial records.

  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements, government regulations, and audit requirements.

  • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation.

  • Review invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for allowability and proper allocation of grant funds.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with prior experience managing government grants preferred.

  • Knowledge of federal/state grant regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Experience with grant reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and government accounting practices.

  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience working with government agencies, municipalities, higher education, healthcare, or nonprofit organizations.
