Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Grant Accountant to oversee the financial management, reporting, and compliance of grant-funded programs. The Grant Accountant will ensure all grant expenditures are properly recorded, monitored, and reported in accordance with funding requirements, organizational policies, and applicable regulations. This role works closely with program managers, finance leadership, and external funding agencies to support the successful administration of grants throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial administration of federal, state, local, and private grants.
  • Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with grant agreements and funding requirements.
  • Review expenses for allowability, allocability, and proper documentation.
  • Track grant spending and identify budget variances, providing recommendations as needed.
  • Assist with grant setup, modifications, renewals, and closeout processes.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports to funding agencies.
  • Reconcile grant-related accounts and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual grant financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with organizational budgeting and forecasting related to grant-funded programs.
  • Record journal entries and maintain grant-related general ledger activity.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits.
