    The Massachusetts Department of State Police Fiscal Unit is seeking a Grant Coordinator position within the Division of Administrative Services. The incumbent will be expected to conduct pre-award grant activities from grant research and writing through preparation and submission of grants. The Grant Coordinator will serve as the primary grant writer on applications prioritized by the Department and will provide writing and editing support on other grants and projects.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Research and identify funding opportunities that align with the Department's mission, priorities and needs.
    • Review solicitation criteria for potential grant opportunities to become familiar with program objectives, application requirements, allowable activities and expenses, and program conditions.
    • Provide guidance to individuals, sections and units interested in applying for grant funding.
    • Support staff by providing templates, checklists, and ongoing feedback and guidance during grant preparation.
    • Work with the Director of Grants to prioritize grants that may need a primary writer based on agency priorities, deadlines, and available resources.
    • Serve as the primary grant writer on prioritized applications, working with program staff to craft an application that communicates their needs and project plans.
    • Serve as point person for compilation and submission of grant applications, ensuring that all required application components are complete and submitted on time.
    • Maintain a grant calendar of upcoming deadlines including letters of intent, application deadlines, amendment deadlines, and report deadlines and communicate those deadlines to the Grants Unit and relevant program staff.
    • Maintain files including pre-award grant files and submitted applications, and ensure those files are distributed to program staff and other staff that require access.
    • Communicate with other members of the Grants Unit and program staff to ensure a smooth transition from grant application to project implementation, including review of award documents and participation in grant kick-off meetings.
    • Perform related duties to support the Department in securing and managing grants.

    MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.

    Substitutions:

    I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

    II. A Bachelor''s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.

    III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.

    IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience.
