POSITION SUMMARY:

The Grant Writer will identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program

activities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and

private funding agencies. Coordinates the application process including planning, organization, preparation,

writing and the administration of all the grants awarded to the agency. Under the direction of the Chief

Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer and grant project managers, interacts with partners and

administrative staff to ensure the grant is compliant with regulatory funding agency, and policy requirements.

Grant Coordinator will work with administrative staff and other department heads to find applicable grants,

and in conjunction with administrative staff and department heads, will spearhead the application process.

Monitors the grant objectives and goals of each FRTH grant to ensure compliance and reporting

requirements are met in a timely manner. This position has a high level of independent judgment and must

be able to multi-task.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, the Grant Coordinator

coordinates the planning and implementation of grant activities for each of the grants awarded to

FRTH.

2. Researches and identifies new government, corporate, foundation and private funding prospects to

match Agency priorities.

3. Helps grant project managers by assisting with implementation of grant requirements.

4. Prepares and compiles grant submission information in conjunction with FRTH staff and grant

partners, ensuring that the grant proposals and reports are formatted, reported, and submitted in

accordance with granting agency requirements.

5. Advises and/or assists as appropriate in the design, formatting and preparation of grant

documentation, to include creation of computerized statistical summaries and/or graphics for grant

and financial reporting.

6. Develops and maintains specialized databases and systems for recording and tracking grant

information and related statistical information; creates and distributes standard and special reports,

studies, summaries, and analyses, as required.

7. Develops and maintains a library of reference documentation, including such information as funding

agency requirements and forms, partner profiles and curriculum vitae, abstracts and reference

literature, and other pertinent material.

8. Monitors and coordinates the administration of the FRTH grants to ensure that budgeting and

administrative policies, procedures, and agency requirements are being followed; manages

administrative issues and/or budget changes occurring during the awarded granting period.

9. Maintains library of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures related to each grant;

disseminates and/or presents changes to project managers and participates in the implementation of

changes required by the grants.

10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the Fiscal

Department.

11. At the time of hire, each employee will meet with their supervisor to set measurable goals and

objectives that are a requirement for the position. These measurables will be monitored by the

supervisor and reviewed during the introductory period. They will also be utilized in the annual

performance evaluation. The measurables may change from year to year. The supervisor is

responsible to notify the employee of any new measurables at the time of the performance review.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform such duties and special projects as determined by the agency as required to carry out

project’s goals and objectives.

2. Learn and implement electronic health records functions as they continue to evolve related to grants.

3. Attend staff trainings and meetings as required.

4. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

5. Contributes to a safe educational and working environment by participating in all drills and training

and being prepared to take action should a health or safety emergency occur.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or GED.

2. Experience with accounting principles preferred.

3. At least 5 years of experience working with grants, compliance and reporting requirements, and by

experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly Rate: $34.85- $38.48, depending on experience
