Job Summary:

The Government Program Lead is responsible for assisting with the development, administration, and monitoring of federally funded programs and projects being implemented. This role ensures that programs are eligible under local, state and federal regulations; adhere to the outlined program guidelines and procedures; and maintain proper documentation to support all eligible expenses incurred by the client/agency. The position is expected to provide high-level expertise across a broad range of subject matter areas including project management, compliance and monitoring, federal reporting, procurement, and construction and eligibility standards applicable for each project.

Job Duties:

  • Manages and tracks agency spend and project progress
  • Interfaces with client agency and senior program staff
  • Ensures the delivery of timely, effective, and high-quality results to support the goals of the client/agency
  • Manages intake workflows and tracks request status, deficiencies, and resolution timelines
  • Assists with drafting comprehensive plans for deploying federal funds across eligible initiatives
  • Produces real-time status reports and transparency content for public facing reporting tools
  • Supports responses to oversight, monitoring, audits, and records requests from government entities
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises junior staff

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • Master's degree in Public Policy, Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting, preferred

Experience:

  • Three (3) or more years' experience in a professional office setting, required
  • Three (3) or more years' experience with state and local government grant program administration, preferred

License/Certification:

  • N/A

Software:

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point, required
  • Experience with SharePoint or similar document management system, preferred
  • Experience with grant management systems, preferred

Language:

  • N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional teams to achieve high levels of production, meet tight deadlines, and deliver compliant, quality work products
  • Ability to interpret written regulations, policies, and procedures and translate requirements into clear guidance
  • Strong business writing skills for policies, procedures and public facing content
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Team player with the demonstrated ability to build organizational capability, motivate team/partners/staff to ensure high levels of engagement, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
