    Job Title: Grant Research Associate

    Location: Goodwill North Central Texas --- 4005 Campus Drive, Fort Worth, Texas

    Salary: Based on Experience

    Work Hours: Full Time (40 Hours/Week). Typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 am start time

    General Job Duties: Grant Research & Strategy: Research and identify new grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Evaluate funding opportunities for alignment with organizational priorities and capacity. Maintain a pipeline of prospective funders and support long-term grant strategy.

    Proposal Development & Editing: Draft clear, compelling, and well-structured letters of intent, grant proposals, narratives, and collect/create supporting documents. Collaborate with program staff to gather project details, outcomes, data, and success stories. Tailor proposals to each funder’s guidelines, priorities, and requirements. Edit and improve proposals and other materials, ensuring high quality and consistency.

    Grant Reporting & Compliance: Create and maintain reporting calendar for each grant (monthly, quarterly, annual). Draft interim and final grant reports, including narrative and quantitative updates, for approval by Director of Grant Administration and Compliance. Ensure all funder requirements are met. Maintain accurate grant documentation, attachments, and records.

    Coordination & Collaboration: Work cross-departmentally to gather data, evaluate outcomes, and track project progress as assigned. Support development, finance, and program teams on grant-related inquiries or tasks as assigned. Assist with preparation for internal and external audits. Attend grant funder meetings (online, in person) as assigned.

    Administrative Duties: Maintain the grants calendar, tracking deadlines for proposals, reports, and renewals. Record submissions, awards, outcomes, and communication. Generate regular internal updates on grant activities and funding progress. Support the Grants and Compliance department generally through support duties such as audit assistance, reception backup, and other duties as assigned.

    Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, nonprofit management, public administration, or related field required. A minimum of one year of experience producing clear, structured written materials (e.g., reports, proposals, narratives, or technical documentation) required.  Knowledge of grant funding processes or nonprofit grant writing experience preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and nonprofit operations. Ability to translate complex program information into clear, persuasive narratives.

    Physical Requirements: Office environment, mobile, ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, and able to lift 10-15 lbs. periodically. Must have reliable transportation. Full-time and occasional evening or weekend work during peak deadlines. Required to have communication capabilities, via cell phone and/or smartphone technology.

    Legal Requirements: Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements and ability to pass drug screen and background check. Must meet staff qualifications set by Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitation Services.
