The Office of Child Development (OCD) is a university-community partnership within the University of Pittsburgh's School of Education that is building the bridge between research and community engagement to improve services, practices, and policies for young children, youth, families, and the adults in their lives. Through interdisciplinary collaborations across research, practice, and policy, OCD turns knowledge into action and responds creatively and collaboratively to the challenges facing children in Pittsburgh and around the world. OCD houses a team of evaluators, researchers, and practitioners working alongside community partner organizations to co-create solutions to community identified problems. OCD's external work is guided by a vision of a just world, rooted in love, where children and families have the resources, support, and relationships needed to thrive and internally, the office is deeply committed to having staff with diverse backgrounds and identities and to fostering a culture of inclusion in which diversity can thrive.

Working autonomously and with minimal supervision, the incumbent will research and identify funding opportunities, track pending grants, contracts, and RFPs, and assist with proposal generation. The position will manage the proposal process focusing on creating system, templates, and processes to streamline proposal submissions and build proposal capacity.

The position requires strong research, synthesis, and persuasive writing skills; the ability to translate complex programmatic and evaluation content into clear narrative for varied funder audiences; and the ability to manage concurrent writing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy. The incumbent collaborates with faculty, staff, division directors, and the administrative team to gather information and integrate different voices into one cohesive proposal.
