The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting

for a Grants Administrator 2 located in Juneau, Alaska!

What you will be doing:

This position manages the full life cycle of complex state and federal grants and cooperative agreements, ensuring compliance with all requirements while supporting program staff. Key duties include reviewing applications and proposals, analyzing budgets, managing awards and contracts, completing FFATA reporting, and closing out federal revenues and expenditures. The role also provides cross coverage for other grants staff to maintain continuity of operations.

This position is based in the Juneau Headquarters building and offers convenient access to ample, unrestricted parking. The incumbent can expect daily interaction with the DAS team and frequent communication with division staff and outside vendors through teleconference, TEAMS, and in person meetings.

Special Note:

  • A Department of Administration, Division of General Services, Procurement Level III Certification will be required to conduct procurement on behalf of the agency as the procurement officer of record. This position will work towards attaining that certification and continuous certification will be necessary. This position will be responsible for enrolling in applicable re-certification classes required to maintain the Level III certificate.

  • Additional training from the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities for construction certification will also be required.

  • Valid Alaska Driver`s License, preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Grants Administrator 1 with the State of Alaska.

OR

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in

  • Accounting: Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual, obligations, and costs methods.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
  • Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
  • Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform ones job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting, grants administration, budget administration, procurement, professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.

"Typically gained by" means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
