What you will be doing:

The Grants and Contracts team for the Division of Water plays a critical role in securing and administering funding to maintain and improve water quality in Alaska. Our team supports a variety of programs across the Division, from administering the Alaska Clean Water Actions sub-grants which restore and protect Alaska's watersheds, to working with rural Alaska villages to fund water and sanitation infrastructure projects through grants and loans. This team is unique in that we are integrated into the Division of Water programs in order to provide the most effective administrative support. Our team is flexible, fun, supportive, and finds value in our Department's mission. The incumbent will be responsible for providing professional level grant and loan administration for the Facilities Programs, primarily supporting Village Safe Water projects. This may include completion of federal applications, generation of individual community grant and loan origination, closeouts, timely reporting and monitoring, and supervising two lower-level Grants Administrator 2s, and policy and procedure development.

Our organization, mission, and culture:

At the Division of Water, we value customer service, accountability, integrity and collaboration and seek a candidate with similar values to help support the Department and Division's goals. In your role, you will have a direct impact on improving water and sanitation needs in Alaska.

The benefits of joining our team:

There are many benefits to joining the Division of Water team including a positive work atmosphere, flexible work schedule, telework options, ample training opportunities, and dedicated professional staff. This position works as part of a group of Grants Administrators housed within the Division's Financial and Administrative Management program. We value each member's contribution and work collaboratively to implement forward thinking administrative strategies to support the Department's mission to protect public health and the environment.

The working environment you can expect:

The physical location of these positions will be in either Juneau, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Wasilla, or Soldotna, with telework options available to those who qualify. Ensure your time and any subsequent flex promotion(s) are documented as a separate position. This is required as there are minimum qualifications that require experience at a particular level in which the lower level may not be considered.
