    Job Description

    The individual in this position will ensure that grant opportunities are strategically evaluated, effectively pursued, and properly administered in compliance with federal, state, regional, and private funding opportunities that also align with city goals, capital programs, and department initiatives.Essential duties include the following.

    • Develops, writes, administers, and monitors financial activities of grant-funding opportunities to derive additional sources of income in support of city programs and projects.
    • Presents funding strategies and grant applications to appropriate city departments, city leadership, and to the Board of Commissioners.
    • Prepares agenda items, resolutions, and budget documents related to grants, as necessary.
    • Conducts grant proposal research, development, and submission, ensuring that grant opportunities are evaluated, pursued, and properly administered.
    • Interprets, explains, applies, and ensures compliance with stipulations, guidelines, and requirements of granting agents and with all applicable law, rules and regulations; initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations.
    • Ensures the financial oversight and administration of grant funds, including monitoring the award, tracking responsibilities of the City across the lifecycle of the award, and confirming that all spending meets allowable and reasonable costs, along with monitoring any other post-award compliance requirements.
    • Maintains financial and complete program integrity following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
    • Compiles and monitors administrative and/or statistical data pertaining to grant activities; prepares status reports and other related reports; maintains associated files and/or records.
    • Assists and performs grant closeout procedures in accordance with the terms of each grant agreement.
    • Develops, updates, and implements policies and procedures relating to grant administration and grant management.
    • Assists the Finance Department with the annual audit related to any grant funds for that fiscal year.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
