Position Summary

The Grants Manager oversees the administration, compliance, and financial management of federal grants. This position ensures compliance with federal regulations, manages grant budgets and reporting, and works closely with program and finance staff to support successful grant implementation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage federal grants from award through closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and grant requirements.
  • Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit financial and program reports.
  • Maintain accurate grant records and documentation.
  • Coordinate audits, monitoring visits, and grant closeout activities.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on grant compliance.
  • Assist with grant proposal budgets and budget modifications.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Knowledge & Experience

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Public Administration, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing federal grants.
  • Knowledge of federal grant regulations and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200)
  • Strong organizational, budgeting, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial or grant management software.
  • A record free of criminal convictions.
  • Preferred experience in a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience managing grants from federal agencies such as HUD or other grants.
  • Embodies high ethical standards and integrity.
  • Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies, and administrative guidelines/procedures.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team.

Skills/Working Conditions:

  • Must maintain valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be insurable by Methodist Children's Homes insurance carrier.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass a post-offer physical and drug screen.
  • Have the ability to communicate professionally, in both verbal and written formats.
