Grants Specialist

Summary:

Work Mode: Hybrid - onsite 2 days/week

Location: 490 Illinois Street, 4th Floor, SF, CA

Mon-Fri 0800-1700, 8 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week

Responsibilities:

• Provide analytical, financial, and training activities in support of contract and grant proposal development, administration, and budget development.
• Engage in pre-award proposal initiatives, management of funds post-award, and closeout activities for federal, state, local, and private sponsors.
• Analyze research funding trends and sources, forecast, plan, and manage research portfolios.
• Coordinate, develop, and present proposals, contracts, and other agreements.
• Review proposals to ensure institutional compliance and program success.
• Negotiate, administer, and monitor contract and grant awards, ensuring compliance with regulations, terms, and conditions.
• Manage financial reporting and sub award/subcontract issuance and administration.

Requirements:

• Experienced professional with in-depth understanding of the professional field.
• Ability to apply theory into practice and perform a full range of responsibilities independently.
• Subject matter expertise in grants and contracts, especially with NIH applications.
• Strong analytical skills to analyze problems/issues of diverse scope and determine solutions.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with pre-award research administration and budget development.
• Familiarity with proposal submission processes, especially with National Institutes of Health (NIH) applications.
• Ability to work on complex proposals and awards involving multiple investigators and/or sub awards.
