Graphic Design Student Intern (STI), Salem High School [SPS STUDENTS only], Salem Public Schools, Salem, MA [SY 2026-2027]

Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Witches' Ink Advisor, the Student Intern will transition from a traditional classroom setting to a live production environment. The intern will perform a variety of routine to moderately complex technical duties in graphic design, pre-press setups, printing, and client relations. This position is essential in assisting Witches' Ink''s expansion beyond Salem High School and in serving the entire Salem Public Schools.

Requirements:

• Current enrollment in the Salem CTE GDVC Program
• Up to 4 hours a week between 7:45 am and 2:35 pm Monday Through Friday

What We're Looking For

• Current Salem High School Senior
• Taken 2 years of the CTE Graphic Design program
• Reliable, creative, and excited to embrace this in-school opportunity
• Ability to understand and accurately carry out oral and written layout instructions; strong attention to detail
• If student schedule allows, student intern is needed to help with CTE Exploratory Program

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Operations: Fulfill clients'' print requests for all of Witches'' Ink services.
• Design: Create graphics for Salem Public School and Witches' Ink clients, including t-shirts, event posters, banners, programs, and logos.
• Client Communication: Act as the first point of contact for digital file submissions. Talk with SHS teachers, club leaders, and students to understand their needs.
• Shop Maintenance: Responsible for the cleanliness of the production room and the maintenance of equipment. Assist with inventory tracking of supplies.
• Equipment Mastery & Process Standardization: Proactively master the operation of all production lab equipment. Independently participate in online training instruction.

Hourly Rate: $16/hour
