GRASS CUTTER - PART TIME
Pay: $12.00 per hour
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs outdoor grounds maintenance for the City of Wheeling, ensuring safe and well-maintained public spaces.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mow and maintain grass in city-owned areas.
- Operate and maintain grounds equipment, including cleaning, greasing, and washing; report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all work zone safety procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, heat, cold, and wet/humid conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regular use of hands and arms to operate tools and equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
- Able to perform physical tasks outdoors in all weather conditions.
