We are hiring an Experienced Nursery and Greenhouse General Manager. If you are passionate about plants, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable individual to oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate will supervise personnel, production management, and planning. Help hire, develop, and support the sales team in achieving goals and maximizing sales. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established horticulture organization with opportunities for growth and advancement. All Candidates being considered must be open to relocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations, ensuring a clean organized and well-stocked sales area.
  • Hire associates, production and greenhouse labor, sales team and office support.
  • Lead, train, and motivate sales associates to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Receive, inspect, display, water, and maintain healthy, high-quality plant inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking with distribution teams.
  • Ensure proper plant care, merchandising, pricing, and signage according to company standards.
  • Maintain logs, labor reports, pesticide applications, plug grade sheets, disease logs and testing.
  • Communicate regularly with district management regarding inventory needs, staffing and operational updates.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ greenhouse, nursery, or garden center managerial experience.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related horticulture and /or business field.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, and guidelines of various federal or state Dept. of Agriculture.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise judgement and discretion in applying and interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to coach and train a sales team in building strong relationships with retail partners.
  • Comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform frequent bending, walking, and standing.
  • Must be willing to relocate if necessary.
  • Must currently reside in the U.S. and have a valid U.S. driving license.
