Greensperson

Position:        Greensperson                        

Department:  Golf Maintenance

Primary Responsibilities: (guest interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical responsibilities, etc.)

·        Mowing greens, fairways, tees, roughs, and collars

·        Changing cups and markers

·        Trim mowing, and detail trimming

·        Watering, fertilizing, grooming, and topdressing

·        Raking bunkers

·        Rolling greens

·        Marking courses for tournament play

·        Each Greensman is expected to put safety first and follow all departmental specific safety precautions as well as Greenbrier’s Safety Policies

·        Greensman are to meet all performance standards set forth by The Greenbrier’s Golf Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures

Secondary Responsibilities:

·        All employees should be aware of and take part in any training provided by the hotel including orientation, re-orientation, CPR certification, and or departmental training sessions

·        Greensman are to use appropriate and professional language when addressing all guests and coworkers

·        Greensman will follow “work preparedness” criteria each and every day

Normal Working Hours: (Shift, days)

·        6:00 am – 2:30 pm Monday thru Friday, Seniority Rotation on Weekends

Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience, etc.)

·        Been employed for 1 year on a golf course or turf related area preferred      

·         

Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study)

·        High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred

·         

Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)

·        Be of high character

·        Able to get along well with others

·        Perform the job with enthusiasm and high energy

·        Understand and carry out verbal and written instructions

Technical Requirements:  

·         Operate the greensmower in a safe and satisfactory manner

·        Must have a valid driver’s license
