POSITION SUMMARY Prepares and cooks a variety of grilled foods for patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with hospital dietary standards and food safety regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate grills and other cooking equipment to prepare menu items including burgers, chicken, fish, and vegetables
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistent quality
  • Prepare special diet orders as directed by dietary services (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area, equipment, and utensils
  • Monitor food temperatures and document in compliance with health department regulations
  • Stock and rotate food supplies following FIFO (first in, first out) procedures
  • Assist with food preparation, plating, and service during meal periods
  • Adhere to all hospital food safety and infection control policies
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of experience in food service or commercial cooking preferred
  • Food Handler's Certificate required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
